Note: Calc uses semi-colons to separate parameters. Some Ubuntu builds of OpenOffice seem to accept commas!!

=IF(A2=""; "";  DAYS(TODAY(); A2))

• DAYS counts the number of days between two dates.

• TODAY is the system date.
